Run for Water

The UCF chapter of Engineers Without Borders is hosting this event to benefit Haitian families. Registration proceeds benefit earthquake relief, the EWB UCF water project in Mare Brignol, Haiti, and Global Water Challenge.

Volunteers who register online here will receive a free shirt when they report for duty.

Those registering as ‘Water Carriers’ will be eligible for prizes. Water Carriers demonstrate the challenge of the people we are trying to help by personally carrying 1 gallon of water (container provided) the entire course distance. The top ten Water Carriers receive stainless steel water bottles and the top three receive additional prizes. Preregistration is required to compete.

H.O.P.E. for Haiti

Join UCF’s Task Force H.O.P.E. for an outreach event to show our support for Haitian students and faculty and staff members. The event runs from 12:30 to 2:45 p.m. Thursday, April 15, in the Student Union’s Cape Florida Ballroom.

Campus and community leaders and organizations will discuss ways to help Haiti and recruit volunteers for local projects.

First General Meeting

Earthquake in Haiti

Fellow students,

As you might know on Monday, January 12, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck southern Haiti. The International Student Association would like to let our Haitian brothers and sisters know that our hopes and prayers are with them. I personally assure you that at the ISA we will not stay with our arms crossed, we will help out however we can. At the moment we are coordinating with other student organizations to figure out what would be the best way for us to help.

Also, Club Kreyol at UCF along with other UCF organizations will be hosting a Relief BBQ on January 18, 2010 from 12:00 PM -5:00 PM in hopes to collect donations. This event will take place in the Alpha Tau Omega House, on the UCF campus in front of Lake Claire. The address is 4419 Greek Court, Orlando, Fl, 32816.

I would like to welcome all the new international students! I hope you enjoy your stay here in Orlando and at UCF. To all our returning members, I hope you had a nice winter break.

Next Monday, September 21, 2009 we will be having our second meeting. Come join us at 5:00 PM in the Barbara Ying Center, and find out about the exciting things we have planned for all of you.

After the meeting we will be going to the rock-climbing wall at the UCF Recreation and Wellness center! Please remember to bring your valid UCF ID, and wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.

As you probably know, we had elections today. The results of the elections are as following:
